Freaky Friday?!?

You know the movie...it was re-made several years ago with Lindsey Lohan and Jamie Curtis. They ate some weird fortune cookie and switched bodies. Well something like that is going on with Micheggy! To the advantage of Michelle and the disadvantage to Peggy!

Somewhere along the way (really since we started this blog) a change has taken place. Peggy was always the organized, non procrastinating, waiting for Michelle to finish her part of the project person and Michelle was the one with piles of paper in her office needing to be dealt with, filed or burned and finishing projects the minute before the deadline. Now the roles are reversed. Michelle had her latest projects done about 2 weeks ahead of time and was helping Peggy finish hers just before the deadline! And, Peggy has been complaining about her super messy office that is driving her bonkers!

I am sure that becoming one person that day at lunch took a tole on us. Some for good, some for....well....not so good. Don't worry, Peggy things will revert back to "normal" soon just like the movie! But I have to say, it is fun being you!

Classes at the Craft Spot

Our last post introduced Micheggy's newest adventure along with her/their friend, Kathy. This "fashionable place to craft" located in K. Jackson & Co. will also feature some fun classes each month. Micheggy will be teaching! Separately, but always together at heart!

The first class will be a card class on February 3, 2011 from 5:30 - 7:00. The cost will be $12. If you are lucky enough to get a spot, you will make the following four cards. (classes will fill up fast)

You do not need to be a member to attend class, but you do need to be a member to teach class. We will go into that at the open house on January 26, 2011 at 6:30. You don't want to miss it.

Her/their other event will be a crop night on February 25, 2011 from 5:30 - 11:30. This will be free for members so get in there during the open house and sign up!

See you soon!

The Craft Spot

Well...Micheggy has been busy with their friend Kathy creating a fabulous new space: The Craft Spot. This is a "fashionable" space for all crafters; quilters, scrapbookers, cardmakers, model makers, etc, located in the back space of K. Jackson & Co. in downtown Emmetsburg. If you're local, you should come by on Wednesday, Jan. 26th at 6:30 pm to see the space and hear all the details. We're looking forward to kicking off this little club and invite EVERYONE to join!

For The Love of Wine

Last January, geez almost one year ago, Micheggy visited Anaheim, California for the Craft and Hobby Association Trade show. We had a lot of fun but one of the greatest memories I will take from the trip was visiting the winery, yes in Anaheim with Peggy's sister, Jeanne.

One thing Micheggy loves is wine, well most alcoholic beverages, I guess. We visited O C Custom Wine in Anaheim. Here is the link if you would like to check it out for yourselves, www.occustomwine.com

We were the first customers of the day and they treated us very well. After tasting some wonderful wines we got to blend different wines to achieve the perfect wine for us. Well, each of us ended up with a different wine blend. Then, we got to blend and pour our own bottle and put our own label on it. Our wine was called "Fruity and Full Bodied" so perfect! It was a wonderful day and a great experience.

I shared my bottle with my sister, cousins, and my aunt. They loved it!

I think our next winery visit should be to one in Iowa.

Always so serious

Probably the BIGGEST undertaking for Micheggy was planning Imagine U, a 3 day scrapbooking event at the Wild Rose Casino and Resort. This took place in November of 2009, and was immensely successful. We had 70ish croppers, dozens of shoppers, classes full of students (does everyone remember what they learned in the Cricut class?!?) and a slightly overworked staff. :)

This photo below of Micheggy was taken before the event ever even started. See, we were taking cutesy photos of us in front of the booth, (as pictured above) before everyone arrived. Leah, the official event photographer, told us to "pretend" for an after picture. It wasn't hard to imagine, but I wish we would have gotten an official after photo. I don't think this one came close!

Once again, Micheggy impresses her friends with her calm demeanor, professionalism, and serious personality...

In the effort to keep you entertained...

Do you remember the old Reese's Peanut Butter Cup commercial from the 80's where two pedestrians bumped into each other on a street corner, one carrying a chocolate bar, one carrying a jar of peanut butter? (I know, sounds random, but I'm going somewhere with this...)

Micheggy has had a hard time deciding what her favorite color combo is. Sometimes, she is drawn to the pink and brown craze that hit the papercrafting and fashion world a few years ago, and other times she is drawn to the more earthy combination of green and brown. These two seemingly different combinations were causing Micheggy much distress, until one day, she saw a product at an unnamed big box store that made her SO happy. Pink, green, and brown. How beautiful these three colors played off each other and pleased her eye! All was well in the world...

Micheggy?...What?

All I know is that Micheggy stays up really late, yet gets up really early. How she does it...nobody knows! Hopefully all of those hours will help to create fun blog posts and some great, creative ideas.

Our first post. :)

Once upon a time, there were two girls, Michelle and Peggy, who met through the great hobby of papercrafting. Once Michelle finally could remember Peggy's name, they became pals.

Michelle and Peggy worked very well together! Peggy would brainstorm crazy ideas and talk Michelle into trying them, and Michelle would focus the ideas to make them into realities. This pattern of behavior continued for almost four years!

One sunny, but bone-chilling cold January day, Peggy took Michelle out to lunch to brief her on her latest CRAZY idea she created. Michelle listened, prepared to offer up her normal doses of reality, when the strangest thing happened: Michelle and Peggy were no longer separate entities. They had become

MICHEGGY!

This blog will document Micheggy's thoughts, ideas, and realities as this new being navigates the world. What will Micheggy accomplish first? Stay tuned to learn more!
