The Incredible Shrinking Pants

So...Micheggy was out shopping several weeks ago, and went to an unnamed big box store to stock up on some basics. We were almost to the checkout line, when we spotted an incredible deal: Hanes sweatsuits, $3 each piece. We needed sweats. We wanted sweats. We really, really wanted $3 sweats.

We each picked out about 3-4 pieces, mixing and matching, (our own, not with each other...that would just be weird...) and when we mentally added our purchases, we decided to head back to the checkout lanes.

Our bags were filled with fresh new hoodies, sweatpants, and long sleeved Ts. We both looked forward to changing into them and lounging around the house. One evening's wear, and we were sold on comfort!

However, our love affair with our new friends was going to be quite short-lived! One washing and drying, and it was obvious that we were no longer "compatible" with Hanes.

One pair of pants shrunk about 4 inches in length, and God only knows how much in width. Let's just say that one attempt at wearing them after their trip to the laundry, resulted in a fit of laughter, tears, and perhaps even some snorting! One leg did indeed shrink about 4 inches. The other...well, it shrunk about 2 inches! They were absolutely, positively, without argument, RIDICULOUS! The "seat" of the pants had constricted to the point of revealing size, shape, and coverage of my undergarments. How could this BE? The $3 sweats were completely unwearable; well, for this 1/2 of Micheggy, anyway. The other 1/2 of Micheggy is the PERFECT height for shrunken pants! (Although, I'm not sure what she did with the one leg being shorter than the other...maybe she just leans to one side when she walks...)

All in all, it was just a few bucks wasted. However, at least we discovered that there is a way for us to now even share the same PANTS. We'll call it our "Sisterhood of the Incredible Shrinking Pants," or something like that! :)

Beginning Digital Scrapbooking

I am teaching a Beginning Digital Scrapbooking class on Tuesday, March 22, at The Craft Spot from 5:30 - 7:30. The cost is $30. In this class we will be using Photoshop Elements. (I have version 7). You will be learning:

The basic tools of Photoshop Elements
How to open and use the Photoshop Elements Editor
How to use the Photoshop Elements Organizer
How to load your photos into the editor
How to create a basic scrapbook page
How to add drop shadows
How to add text
and more!

You must bring to class a laptop already loaded with Photoshop Elements, a wired mouse, and four or more photos on your computer or a flash drive.

We will create and print a page using the "Micheggy" line of paper I created especially for this class. You will get 7 papers, 3 flowers, and 3 brads. You will keep this kit for use later if you wish.

Please bring photos that will match the green, brown and pink color scheme. This makes things much easier.

If you would like to sign up for this class, please call me at 712-480-2320 so I can have a disc ready for you.

If you are already familiar with Photoshop Elements but want to learn a little more, you can sign up for the Intermediate Digital Scrapbooking Class on March 28!
