As usual, I was checking out some of my favorite blogs, and I came across yet another contest from Pagemaps. I will take this opportunity to reiterate how much I love these sketches. They are so versatile and easy to use, I just can't stop! I have purchased both of Becky Fleck's Pagemaps books, and I also keep a binder full of the free monthly downloads from pagemaps.com. If that wasn't enough, I now obsessively follow the blog at pagemaps.blogspot.com to get even more ideas!
This contest link is here: http://pagemaps.blogspot.com/2011/10/studio-purge-sketch-contest.html, and the sketch we were to use as an inspiration is this one:
Aren't those pictures the best?! We are pretty sure that they were taken by my grandmother, Phyllis. To get that fabulous shot of him with the cornfields behind him, she must have been sitting on the top of the tractor. Priceless. I thought the Farm Life papers and embellishments complimented the pictures, and it went together really easily. I added several different kinds of twine, did a lot of distressing to the papers and stickers, and included lots of my favorite inks from Quick Quotes!
Be sure to check out the contest. Even if you don't enter, you'll be inspired by some of the other really awesome entries. Give us a link in your comment if you do a layout too. I'd love to see what you create!

Wonderful page Peggy! I especially love that you used our Quick Quotes Chalk Inks too! (I'm on their Design Team!)
ReplyDeleteThose photos are priceless!!! Love them!
I love your page, I am a big fan of black and white pictures glad to see that in your layout!
ReplyDeleteThanks, girls! Rhonda, I used to rep for QQ, and absolutely, positively, LOVE, and will always love, their inks. I refuse to use any other kinds now! LOL!
ReplyDeleteSheryl, I'm a fan of heritage photos as well. The history in them is quite meaningful. :) It was a fun page to create, and I gave it to my mom to enjoy.
I love this page and I can relate to the comment from Sheryl about the b&w photos. I love them in layouts and with Rhonda's comment about QQ Inks. I am an inkaholic and when Peggy showed me these inks I had to have them. I have not been able to do without them since. Thank you Quick Quotes!
