The Color Room

I think I have mentioned this website before but it is called The Color Room. It is really quite fun. They post a new color palette and a layout sketch each week and you design something using the palette, then upload a picture of your design to the website. It is a great place to get inspiration. I know that Peggy has used the site a lot for color ideas. This is the palette for this week.

I have to admit that this was not my favorite color palette but I found some pictures of Ian when he was two visiting Pismo Beach. Here are my layouts. These were done digitally on Photoshop Elements 7. I used the colors to make my own papers and elements. I didn't really use the sketch this time. But I sort of liked the sun element so I put that in. It was actually quite fun.

You should check out this site and all of the layouts that have been posted. They are really great. Some of them are a little "over the top" for me. I obviously like clean lines and pretty simple design. They are beautiful, don't get me wrong. Just different taste than mine.

If you are not a digital scrapper, you can post pictures of traditional pages as well. Check out this blog. I love the page she made of her son's (well, I think it is her son) first guitar. Awesome!

Enjoy!

Finally! My Page Maps Contest Entry

This digital page was done using the Page Maps design for the contest, the Sandbox Summer Pack and Word Art kits from My Memories and Photoshop Elements 7. You can click on the picture if you want to view a larger image.

I really have been working on this for about a week. I have had so much trouble getting my photos from this trip off my phone and into my computer. Wow! I finally ended up emailing them to our family email address. After that, they show up on my computer in my sent mail from my gmail account and I was able to download them. Why, oh why can't I remember to take my camera in the first place. I can't even believe I did that. Well, it all worked out in the end I guess and I got my page done and posted on the very last day of the contest. Typical Michelle, right?

Anyway, I hope Peggy or I win the big prize. LOL!

If you forgot what Peggy's page looked like you can see it on her blog at flourishscrapbooker.blogspot.com

Cupcake Heaven!

My card class at The Craft Spot included a really fun cupcake box and topper all wrapped up with a cellophane bag. We had such a good time making them that I had to share.
The box was cut with the Cricut using Tags, Bags, Boxes and More. I also cut the circles from the Cricut. The stamps are Printworks.
Some of the students opted to eat their cupcakes and save the box for later. That is what I would have done as well. LOL!

Emily finished hers!

Pat holds up the topper for the camera.

The cupcakes. Yum!

Pat's finished cupcake box (minus the cupcake LOL) and one of her finished cards. Very nice!
