I have had a lot of fun with this new digital kit from Shabby Digitals. I hope you will check out her blog and website. I am on the Creative Team and am having a blast using this kit.

It features a lot of pink, black, white and turquoise. And here I am with no girls...go figure. But, I do have a very photogenic neighbor, Brooke. So I used her in both layouts. One is Brooke with her niece, Lainey and the second involves Brooke and Brian at Prom 2011.

I could also use it without the pink papers for my boys if I wanted to. Anyway, I hope you like the layouts. There are other kits for sale at the website.

More Fun!

I really hope you are liking the layouts and projects we have posted because I am showing you more today. I am having so much fun just playing and getting some pages done. I haven't done traditional scrapbooking in a while and I am enjoying it. I am just going to talk a little bit about the layouts then post the pictures.

All of these, again are using the Moxxie products. I hope you have visited their website at gotmoxxie.com. They really are fun to work with. If you live in Emmetsburg, Iowa you can purchase a variety of the products at Hughes Pharmacy. And, for those of you who don't scrapbook, a lot of their papers work great for cards. I have a couple of cards pictured below.

The lines I have used this time are (not sure if these are the official names but you would be able to find them I am sure) love, dog and cat, medical, and USA. Enjoy!

Sharing is FUN!

I like sharing. Sharing makes the giver happy, and the receiver happy. Because I like sharing so much, I'm sharing a contest with you! Pagemaps Blog has a sketch contest going on right now, through July 24th, which you can see here: Pagemaps Punky Sprouts Sketch Contest

All you have to do is use the sketch posted in the blog entry to jumpstart your creativity and complete a layout based on that sketch. In the comments section, leave a link to where she can find your entry. That's it!

But I'm not done yet! This blog post is about sharing, so what I'm going to do is share with you the entry I made, and I'd like you to share in our comments section the entries YOU made. Isn't that lovely? I already saw a couple of other entries for this contest, and they're so diverse. It really fascinates me the way different people can interpret the same sketch and come up with completely different looking layouts. Sending Some More Moxxie Love!

Since we love Moxxie so much, I thought I'd add some more fun projects I've been working on lately.

This first one is a fun layout using Moxxie's picnic line. I LOVE the gingham background paper! If you look very closely at each square, you'll see a word embedded in there! "Eat" and "Yum". Do you see them? So clever... I also really loved the graphics of the ants carrying off all the picnic food, so I found a Pagemaps sketch that I could work with to show my photos, as well as the cute papers. :) I hope Rich, Lori, and Andy don't mind being on my blog!


That adorable baby girl is the granddaughter of one of my very best friends! Cindy emailed me the pictures, and they just HAD to go on a layout. This little bundle of joy has the BEST facial expressions I've ever seen on a newborn! I used Moxxie's Special Delivery line as my backgrounds because I like how sophisticated the color palette is, and I really liked the way Reece's bright yellow and pink outfit popped when put on this paper. Besides, the pink and brown color combo is SO this half of Micheggy...



I loved this dog! I was never really a dog person, but Jay was, and he came home one day with the most adorable puppy he found at the Humane Society. (I never even knew he was going!) Anyway, we quickly named the dog Captain, and he was a wonderful companion. Captain looked awfully nice on this Paws & Claws paper line from Moxxie. I think the puppy on the paper is equally as cute, so I was really pleased with the layout, and just had to try another for my kitty page:



There's Penelope! The world's greatest, most spoiled kitty! I have a ton of funny pictures of her, but these of her sleeping in my old butterfly chair are just too adorable. Look how easily the paper line becomes a neutral background, and Penelope is highlighted in all her glory... On a product note, the rub-ons that go with this line reminded me how much I love using a good quality rub-on! I have to say that Moxxie's are some of the best on the market. The graphics are beautiful, they're backed in white so that the images are opaque and can be rubbed onto any color background, and they rub off the transfer paper with ease.

I hope you enjoyed the layouts. I think we'll have lots more Moxxie ideas coming up in the next couple of weeks or so!

Got Moxxie?

One of my favorite scrapbook companies is Moxxie. They are Iowa based which is another reason I love them. When I owned my store it was so great to order products from them because the box arrived at my store two days later and the customers loved the stuff. Their papers, stickers and rub-ons are really great to work with.
I have made some projects over the past couple of days and I wanted to show them off. The pattern papers and embellies are all Moxxie and the solids are either Bazzill or The Paper Cut. I used the Family line for the clip board, the baby line for one of the layouts and the Idea book and the picnic line for the other layout. So fun. I hope you like them. Freebie!

I really wanted to do something fun for the holiday. So, what could be better than a freebie for you to download. I was at a graduation party for my neighbor, Brooke and they had a table full of cupcakes with tents telling us what kind they were. It thought it would be fun to take this idea and make a fun template. So here is a layered digital template for a table tent or a topper for a fun filled baggie of candy for your friend. It was created in Photoshop Elements 7. So you can add your own digital papers and elements then print it out. If you want you can add some ribbon or flowers for a hybrid project. Fold it in half and you are done. I hope you have fun with it!

Home Vs. Crops

Where do you like to work? I want feedback! Do you like to work at home in your own crafty space or do you prefer to work at a crop or friends house? Hmmmm...I am really torn but you get to hear my thoughts anyway.

I am going to give you my pros and cons for each.

Home Pros

1. Everything is there! That is my fave part of working in my beautiful space. I don't have to worry about forgetting anything.

2. I can listen to my music and dance if I feel like it or I can turn on Netflix and watch a movie while I work.

3. I spent a lot of time getting my space just the way I like it, I feel I should use it as much as possible.

4. Working at home is free and I can grab a 1/2 hour or several hours whenever I can. It is always available.

Home Cons

1. Sometimes it can be lonely. I am a social person and love the company of friends.
2. My sweet little kitties can be somewhat problematic. They like to chew on my ribbon, paper and anything plastic and they like to crawl all over my work. (I know this is my own fault)

3. My family, although I love them dearly, seem to always need me to find something or do something. It seems to be never ending. So, my time is interrupted.
Crop Pros

1. There are lots of people to talk to and see.

2. There are usually lots of good food and munchies.

3. It is fun to get feedback from others if you are stuck on a project.

4. Usually there are vendors and it it always great to shop!

5. Tons of fun no matter where you are!

Crop Cons

1. Lots of people means lots of social time and less work time.

2. Usually others want feedback from you and this means less work time.

3. Vendors are usually there and this means more shopping and less work time.
4. The crops cost money. Although many times they are fundraising crops for a great cause.

I am still torn and probably always will be. I enjoy working at crops because of the friends, food and shopping! What can I say, I am a social gal! But being at home is nice. I don't enjoy packing my paper and tools all of the time. But, since I am going digital, bringing the laptop doesn't take too much effort. I will continue to split my time and do both but if asked, being with friends will always be my first choice!
